Around Asia...

A very unorganized taste of the last month or so...
Not all the pics made it because of camera woes, but if I can I'll try to post them later.
Enjoy!

Mullet of the month winner. I promise this picture does not do it justice.
Can you guess who she drew? Here's a clue: He hangs out with Cindy Lou and all the Whoville crew :) Yep, we watched The Grinch with our college friends and talked about the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Good times!

My friend's baby was sick so she asked me to go to the the hospital with her and talk to the doctor. We needed labs but the nurses were unsuccessful so they handed me a needle. I haven't stuck anyone in almost 2 years so I said a quick prayer and gave it shot. PTL I got it and no one cried (the pic is bad, but if you look close you can see her band-aid) Baby Lessy is healthy now and cuter than ever :)
Went back to my first island for Christmas. Spent some time chillin' with my favorite monkeys...

I brought them some lemon flavored Ritz and they were big fans. They ate them like Oreos - twist em open, lick the middle, and eat em up!

This dude was pretty fun, until he chased my friend and tried to bite her. We tossed the last bit of food and made a mad dash for my motorcycle. Ah, memories! :)

After surviving Monkey Forest we went scuba diving in honor of Chris's b-day...

Our first dive was one of my favorites. You know it's gonna be good when the first thing you see are a couple of big sharks. We had seen everything we were hoping for except sea turtles, but towards the end of our dive they showed up and I had a good, long swim with them..they're so cute!

Hung out on the Gilis and grabbed some tuna steak in between dives. I got offered pot for $2 by a very smiley man with dreads No worries, I just said "NO"..thank you D.A.R.E.! :)

View from Gili Meno...

Taking a boat back to my former home..so beautiful!

Funfetti cake goodness...Happy Birthday Christina!

Riding public transporation for kicks my first night in Bangkok. It was similiar to what we have where I live but this motorcycle driver went a lot faster and was a pro at turning sharp corners. So fun!

Our star driver
Em taking a breather after a long day of exploring...

We hit a few malls to check out the current trends....

Nice hood. For bad hair/face days?

Arabic food! Loves me some shwarma!
We tried out the fancy schmancy theatre with recliner chairs, pillows, and blankets. Afterwards you could hang out in a V.I.P. lounge with super duper massage chairs, food, and drinks. It was excessive but fun to try once!

Em testing out the selection of pillows to choose from for the movie...

Some of the massage chairs in the lounge. The
others were huge recliners you could enclose yourself in with a lid. It was a little strange, but very cool!

Downtown Bangkok

We liked the womens bathroom sign...

Poser.
For all the Diet Coke lovers of the world...
And for the Walker duo :)

And finally, for my Turkey Tom!

LOVED the fresh flower market! I miss flowers!

Super cute little girl at the market

Strawberries!

Thai food!

We went to an island off Pattaya our last day. It was really touristy and the most skin I've seen in a very long time. Normal I guess for Western culture, but girls are very modest where I live so I was definitely overdressed in comparison :)

View of the island

So tempting not to run through these fountains!
Hopped a river boat and went to a classy hotel to watch fireworks for New Years

The hotel was having a big party but was okay with us hanging out and getting in on the action as long as we ordered some over-priced smoothies. It was really fun and we were more than entertained by the amateur dancing, especially the boa lady :)

Best firework show EVER

Back to the flower market
For my PV Pattaya friends....miss you guys!

We bought some cheap tickets to ride the night bus to Chang Mai. The bus turned out to be swaaank with tv screens, air conditioning, and good food. Score!
